Sew ‘n Sews members are proud to support Ryan’s Cases for Smiles, local Veterans with an annual patriotic quilt presentation and Newborns in Need. We proudly support other Sun City Center organization such as the Emergency Patrol, Security Patrol, Samaritans Services and Mary Petro Food and Medicine Fund with a portion of Club sales. We also contribute Sew ‘n Sews products to other SCC entities for their use in raffles, door prizes, etc.
Purpose: Provides a place and equipment for both experienced and novice stitchers or quilters to learn new techniques, to share in the joy of creating something beautiful, and to enjoy great fellowship.
Membership: Membership is $10 annually; we also offer half-year membership after July 1st of each year. Class and event announcements are emailed to Club members. These announcements include registration costs and/or fabric and notion requirements that each attendee must purchase/procure before the class. New members are required to complete orientation sessions for each of our machine types before they are allowed to use them independently.
Meetings: Bi-annual club meetings are held in winter and spring at luncheons for the entire membership. Classes for beginning sewing and quilting are held on Thursday and Friday mornings. You are welcome to visit Sew ‘n Sews during open hours (usually 9am-3pm depending on monitor availability). If you visit on Mondays between 9-11am, you will find an enthusiastic group of hand quilters. Wednesdays between 9-11am is another good time to visit because it is the Club’s very popular project/show-and-tell day.
