Aquatics & Fitness Clubs

There are many opportunities to stay healthy and fit in the community. The Fitness Center is open all day long with music played to keep you moving. To use the Fitness Center, all persons must display their valid ID card issued by the CA. Guests may utilize the Fitness Center with a valid guest pass purchased by a member. Proper clothing and footwear is required.  Guests under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the facility.

AQUASIZERS

Water aerobics are an excellent way to exercise your joints and muscles and lots of fun.

Meetings: Classes are at 10 AM Monday through Saturday (shallow water); and 9 AM Monday through Friday (deep water).

MORNING FITNESS CLUB

The Morning Fitness Club is dedicated to supporting a healthy lifestyle.  The first 45 minutes is devoted to good breathing, stretching, using light weights you bring from home and time on your mat for core strengthening.  Leaders use upbeat music and instruction designed to offer a safe, whole body workout at your own pace.  The next 45 minutes is devoted to low impact movement using fun music for a gentle cardio experience.  we spread out in the spacious Community Hall three times a week.  Bring your mat, optional light weights and some water to stay hydrated.

Meetings: There are two back-to-back classes.  You may enjoy both or one.  The first meets 8:00am – 8:45am for Stretch, Strengthening and Core work.  The second is 8:45am – 9:30am with another instructor who will lead you through movements with music, designed to gently increase the heat rate in a low impact workout.

LOW-IMPACT AEROBICS

Sun City Center Low Impact Aerobics Club presents the opportunity through a variety of video tapes and DVD to participate in a cardiovascular workout at your on speed, build endurance, provide overall exercise for strength and flexibility, cause minimal impact on joints and bring fun and friendship.

Meetings:  Aerobic Classes are:  Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8:20 – 9:20 AM in the Dance Studio.

LATIN FITNESS DANCE CLUB

This will get your heart pumping and feet moving to a healthier you. This is an aerobic exercise dance class.

Meetings: Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the new Dance Studio of the Atrium Building located at 945 North Course Lane. See our website

Master Swimmers Club

Master swimmers encourages competitive swimmers and fitness swimmers to challenge each other and learn from the skill of others and is a great exercise for all ages.

Meetings: General membership meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of November. Contact the president for regularly scheduled meetings.

SWIM DANCERS

Swim to keep your body and mind agile and fit while learning figures and routines in a fun and social atmosphere.

Meetings: Practice times are Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30pm and Friday mornings from 7:30 to 9:00am at the Atrium pool.

Tai Chi Club

Tai Chi is a non aggressive form of Martial Arts for Health and Exercise. The 108 movements – done in a slow, meditative state – build body strength, balance, coordination, stamina and body awareness.

TRIMNASTICS

Stretching and bending exercise to stay fit and healthy.

Classes: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Dance Studio. Stand-up exercises last one-half hour and are done to music.

Physical, mental and spiritual exercise to enhance your health and well being.

Purpose: The SCC Yoga Club offers Yoga for Us.  Instruction is in Hatha Yoga using lyengar techniques and Vinyasa Flow.  We offer challenges to optimize your experience and modifications to avoid pain.
