General Federation of Women’s Club

Creating friendships while giving back to the community and enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services.

Purpose: The GFWC Sun City Center Woman’s Club is a charitable non-profit corporation. Our work enables individuals to develop an overall awareness and deeper perspective of community, state and national affairs that can affect our quality of life. In 1962, women of the community organized the club, and the SCC Library. In 1973 the club started the local Meals on Wheels program, and still coordinates its volunteers. Two fundraisers yearly generate funds for community services and to support veterans, education, and women. We provide scholarships for local students and donations for local Sun City Center organizations and many other worthy causes on local, state and international levels. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is the largest and oldest non-denomination, non-partisan international organization of volunteer women in the world.

Membership: Open to SCC and Kings Point Members with a KP Club Usage Card and others, per CA policy. Annual dues are $45.00, with a one time $15.00 charge for your name tag.

Meetings: Third Thursdays September through May at the South Campus Community Hall. Contact the club or local media announcements for meeting times. Guests are welcomed.  Meetings include a social time, short business meeting, lunch and either an entertaining or educational program which can cover a wide range of topics including arts, education, conversation, health care, home life, public issues and international outreach.
