Enjoy the creation of wearable art and jewelry of all kinds.
Purpose: We are a club for creating beautiful jewelry & fashionable, wearable art and for those who enjoy working with metals, stones & gemstones. We believe that you can learn to create jewelry & lapidary art in a short time and that your life will be greatly enriched from making beautiful works to share with friends & family. Our gift shop is open daily – Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10am to 1pm, Tuesday & Thursday from Noon to 3pm – and offers a wide array of jewelry & lapidary art. The shop hours do vary seasonally.
Membership: We welcome both men and women that are members of The Sun City Center Community Association that are in good standing and (if space allows) Kings Point Members with a KP Club Usage Card. Club dues are $10 annually from January 1 through December 31 each year. We are located on the east end of the Arts & Crafts Building. Products produced on club equipment and with club supplies may be used for gifts, personal use or for sale in the gift shop and are not for personal profit. A requirement of membership is a commitment to work in the store, (ideally once a month), make jewelry for the purpose of sale in the shop, or teach/assist the instructors in the classes.
Meetings: Beginner and advanced classes include beading, cabochons, chain maille, enameling, faceting, lost-wax casting, metal working, wire-wrapping and polymer clay. We have a wide array of equipment and supplies for most areas of lapidary work and jewelry making. Many various gemstone and glass beads as well as almost everything needed for jewelry making, are available for sale at reduced prices to club members.
