Workings with wood that allow for therapy and enjoyment for all.
Purpose: To design, construct and distribute such therapeutic type toys, educational aids, games, wheelchair ramps, devices and furniture as requested by various schools, clinics, hospitals, and other charitable groups. Teachers presenting a letter from their school principal may visit once a year. They may choose 6 items from more than sixty items. Please call 813-642-2038 to alert the volunteers when you will be arriving.
Membership: Open to all CA members. The club has a membership of about 300. All new members must attend two safety courses. Annual dues are $35/year for current members and $40/year for new members.
Meetings: The woodworking shop is always available to members who want to build their own projects, or to contribute time and skill to aid in continuing the purposes of our club. The shop is equipped with power woodworking equipment of all kinds including table saws, radial arm saws, band saws, planers, joiners, routers, sanders, drills, clamps, etc. An efficient vacuum system keeps the room free of sawdust. The shop is open Monday-Friday 8am to 3pm and Saturdays 8am-Noon. Trained monitors are always on duty to provide assistance.
