Sawdust Engineers

Members use their woodworking skills and talents to support local groups and organizations.

Purpose: The Sawdust Engineers work with local schools and teachers to make teaching aids.  We support veterans by providing urns and flag display cases, we provide wheelchair ramps to residents of Sun City Center and we provide toys for needy children.

Membership: Membership is open to all CA members. The club has a membership of about 300. All new members must attend two safety courses. Annual dues are $40 for new members and $35/year for current members.

Meetings: The woodworking shop is always available to members who want to build their own projects, or to contribute time and skill to aid in continuing the purposes of our club. The shop is equipped with power woodworking equipment of all kinds including table saws, radial arm saws, band saws, planers, joiners, routers, sanders, drills, clamps, etc. An efficient vacuum system keeps the room free of sawdust. The shop is open Monday-Friday 8am to 3pm and Saturdays 8am-Noon.  Trained monitors are always on duty to provide assistance.
