What’s New In Sun City Center

May, 2015

Sun City Center’s new visitor Information Center opened for business. Its location is far more convenient than the former site which it had occupied for the past decade. According to our Information Center volunteers, traffic from out-of-town visitors has increased significantly. People who are interested in our community say that they like the fact that tours are conducted by Sun City Center homeowners rather than by professional sales people.

The Samaritan Services has moved into their new 2000 sq. foot building located in our central campus. Relying on volunteer support and contributions, Samaritan Services supplies valuable assistance to Sun City Center residents. Among the most popular of these are transportation to doctor appointments and hospitals including those outside of the immediate area, and a local shuttle service to banks, hairdressers and other daily activities. The Samaritans also support Meals on Wheels evening meal services for residents who are unable to prepare meals for themselves, and Alzheimer’s Respite Care which provides a few days of help for loved ones while their family caregivers can take some time for themselves.
