Emergency Squad

A remarkable array of services helps make Sun City Center a safer, healthier and more enjoyable place to live. Most are provided by trained volunteers and are free of charge.  The Emergency Squad provides ambulance service to residents in time of need.  The Security Patrol keeps watch over our neighborhoods. Samaritan Services offers transportation and support services. Those are but a few of the unexpected services you’ll enjoy here.  Our Newcomers Hospitality Program volunteers will be happy to tell you more.

Emergency medical services are provided by an all-volunteer Emergency Squad supported by an annual donation from residents and local organizations. The Squad is equipped with four basic life support ambulance units and three wheelchair transport vehicles. The Squad serves Sun City Center, Kings Point, Lake Towers and Freedom Plaza.

The following services are provided within a 25-mile radius: emergency medical transportation, scheduled transport for non-mobile medical patients, evacuation during a community disaster for those medically or physically disabled, and loan of wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches. Two telephone numbers are available:

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES AND ACCIDENTS ONLY: 634-3800

OTHER SERVICES AND GENERAL INFORMATION: 633-1411

There is no charge for services of the Emergency Squad. The Squad is routinely in need of volunteers. No experience is necessary. Training is provided in conjunction with Hillsborough County programs.

The Sun City Center Emergency Squad has been granted 501(c)3 charitable organization status by the Internal revenue Service; therefore, all contributions are tax deductible.
