Sharing in the passion to promote care and support to those in need and giving back to the community through the nursing skills.
Purpose: The Registered Nurses Club was formed in 1972 to promote fellowship among its members and assist with health related programs that benefit the community. Our members participate in Fun Fest, taking as many as 300 blood pressures and measuring oxygen saturation for those attending the event. We do this with the nursing students at Hillsborough County Community College to foster collegiality with our younger nurses.
Membership: Any Registered Nurse, active or inactive, resident of Sun City Center is eligible for membership. Dues are $10.00 annually; $15.00 for new members, including a magnetic name badge.
Meetings: Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month from October through May in the Caper Room of the Atrium Building. Meetings begin at 9:15 am with coffee, pastries and conversation, followed by a brief business meeting at 9:45 am. Programs suggested by the members are Medical topics of interest begin at 10:00 am. We share a Christmas luncheon in December and a Spring Luncheon in May, close to Nurses day. We arrange additional tours of medical interest. (Local hospices, memory care units, special hospitals and training hospitals.)
