Social & Civic

Whatever interests you want to pursue, there probably is a group of like-minded neighbors who will be happy to have you join them. Whether it’s as energetic as tennis, artistic as china painting or mentally challenging as competitive bridge, you’ll find a club that will welcome you.

We have 22 music and dance clubs ranging from polka to ballroom dance and from big-band to country music. There are clubs for cats, dogs, writers, investors, gardeners, and fun-lovers of every stripe. Click on any of the categories below to learn more.

This page includes many of the organizations in Sun City Center which are involved in civic or social activities, or which provide support to the residents of the community on a charitable basis. While some of the organizations listed may not be affiliated with the CA, they are popular with residents so are listed here for information. Dues, if any, should be confirmed by calling the person who is in charge of the organization. Refer to the Membership Directory for contact information.

Below is a list of the Social & Civic Clubs we offer. Click one of the links to see more details about that club.

AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Sun City Center Amateur Radio Club (SCCARC), recognized by the Florida Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee, is an integral part of the Hillsborough County Emergency Operations. When emergency radio communications are needed, the SCCARC is called on to provide radios and operators. Such emergency could occur where electrical power is out, taking out cell phones and wireless phones. If emergency services from other than Hillsborough County are called on, it is possible their radios will not be compatible with our County radios. Our radios and operators will direct those out of county resources. Permanent antennas are installed in South Bay Hospital, the Emergency Squad and the Security Patrol buildings to communicate with our repeater and directly with other hospitals and Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center.
