Country Cloggers of SCC

The Sun City Center Cloggers have been performing within Sun City Center and surrounding communities since May 2000.  They performed Lord of the Dance, a form of Irish step-dance, in the Follies of that year.  The SCC Cloggers were the first to receive the Jane Chevers Outstanding Performance Award at the 2011 Follies.  The group enjoys dancing to various types of music from country, to rock and roll, as well as patriotic music.

Purpose: Clogging is a way of having fun with other people who share your enjoyment of dancing.  It’s not only a great form of exercise but it develops your memory skills as well as you learn various dance routines for class.  Participation in performances is optional.

Membership: We welcome both men and women from Sun City Center and Kings Point. Dues are $15 per year, and include lessons.

Meetings: The SCC Cloggers meet every Tuesday from 10 AM to 12:00 noon in the Atrium Building’s Dance Studio.  Beginners’ lessons are held from 11:30 to 12:00 noon.  We welcome all who are interested and wish to come and watch.
